PRINTMAKING I
5 weeks - Monday October 30 - November 27 3 pm - 6 pm $280 Take your first steps into the creative & exciting world of printmaking! You will learn the fundamentals of printmaking: monotype, linoleum cut, chine collé, and mixing color. If you’re a painter you’ll find the use of color mixing in the printing process exciting too! Upon completing Printmaking I attendees will leave with a minimum of 10 prints and will have the foundational knowledge to take our intermediate Printmaking II. This workshop is perfect for people who are curious about printmaking or refreshing their knowledge if they have previous experience. This small interactive workshop guarantees you plenty of time with the instructor. Join us! GELLI PLATE PRINTMAKING
Weekend Workshop November 11 & 12 10 am - 3 pm $220 A fun and versatile method of printing using a “plate” made from gelatin known as a 'Gelli plate.' It can be used with both printmaking inks and acrylic paints; you will work with both mediums in this workshop. Gelli plate printmaking has a spontaneous quality that lends itself to magazine transfers, printing on found paper and printmaking paper. Your creativity and dexterity will be stretched in new and exciting ways. In addition, you will learn about color and the registration process. You will have plenty of time for one-on-one instruction to hone your techniques and get answers to all your questions. This interactive workshop will introduce you to other like-minded folks to spur your creativity. Expect to leave with prints that are ready to be framed, cards to mail and unique papers perfect for collaging so you will be able to skillfully make more prints at home! No previous experience is required. |
