This course explores the fundamentals of woodblock printing. We will focus on learning the processes involved in creating two-color woodcut prints. We’ll explore mark making on wood blocks using many types of gouges, and explore layering ink colors. You’ll prepare a design, cut it into wood, ink and print. You will learn how to properly register more than one carved block, thus layering ink colors, and creating more rich and colorful images.
